Verso Architecture + Interiors Ltd was established by Borijan Milic and Kylie Willett in 2015 and has grown into a reputable boutique design and architecture practice with a honed focus on bespoke residential and small commercial projects.

The Latin word ‘verso’ roughly translates in English to turning-over a page, twisting or reversing an object and that’s what the team at Verso Architecture + Interiors do. The architecture and interior design duo work together like both sides of a page, one designing the functional elements and the other bringing the project to life with colour and textures.

From their city-fringe studio on Randolph Street in Eden Terrace, the Verso team approaches each project individually, tailoring designs to the client’s brief with an inventive use of space, playful manipulation of materials and custom detailing. They actively pursue and source original products and textiles for each project. With a collaborative design method, the team makes full use of each staff member’s complementary skill set.

Both Kylie and Borijan have several years’ experience working on a number of high-end projects for key Auckland firms, as well as working independently. They bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm, as well as a drive to create bespoke spaces that are inventive and spirited. They offer a complete sketch-to- delivery service.

+ Borijan Milic, Director

After completing his Master of Architecture (Prof) at the University of Auckland in 2011, Borijan worked for key Auckland firms and also for himself on a number of residential projects. His work at Strata Architects included the refurbishment of a warehouse and liquor store into a high-end complex for brands such as Dawsons at The Strand, Parnell. When Strata began to wind down in 2015, Borijan joined forces with Kylie to create Verso Architecture + Interiors.

+ Kylie Willett, Interior Designer

A self-confessed workaholic, Kylie received the 2019 House & Garden Interior of the Year award for the Best Bathroom. Her professional career began working for Jason Bonham of Bonham Interiors, while studying for her Bachelor of Design in Interior Design at Unitec. A residential project she designed with Bonham went on to win an NKBA award in 2012. Following this, Kylie worked at MMiD. Here she worked on high-end residential and commercial fit-outs, like Russell McVeagh, which was a finalist in the 2014 Best Awards, and Broadway Radiology, which was also a 2017 Best Awards finalist and won a Silver Award in the 2018 Commercial Project Awards. Kylie began contracting to high-end Auckland designers while setting up Verso Architecture + Interiors.

+ Scope of works

The big idea. A concept is prepared that address’ the project requirements and a Client specific brief is constructed.
